Education

  • B.A. English and Secondary Education; Carroll University
  • M.A. Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education; University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

International Experience

  • Studied abroad on a faculty-led program to Australia and New Zealand
  • Traveled abroad to Thailand, France, Mexico, Canada, The Dominican Republic, South Korea, Japan and India

Why Abby works in study abroad: I love helping students experience a different culture to learn more about their environment, policies, and themselves. There are just certain parts of culture that you need to experience, rather than read about.

Advice for students preparing to go abroad: Take the time to learn about the country, culture and language in which you will be studying. You will have a far better learning experience and grow more as a person if you have some prior knowledge as a base.

One of the most important lessons Abby learned while studying abroad or traveling: Humanity can often surprise you. Despite having a language or cultural difference, we are all human, and therefore, have a base for understanding.
