* Students with ASU tuition waivers (i.e., dependent waivers) may only use their waivers for study abroad programs that require participants to pay tuition directly to ASU (Exchange programs only).

** You may choose to spend one semester in an ASU-sponsored study abroad program only after completion of your first year in the Obama Scholars Program. This will count as one semester toward the eight-semester maximum. Your funding will continue to be based on ASU cost of attendance and will not cover any study abroad program fees. Your cost of attendance will reflect ASU’s standard off-campus budget. Students with ASU tuition waivers (i.e., dependent waivers) may only use their waivers for study abroad programs that require participants to pay tuition directly to ASU. For programs that do not require this, an ASU tuition waiver cannot be used, and additional funds through the Obama program will not be awarded to cover the value of the tuition waiver.

*** ASU courses (including ASU study abroad) completed in the fall and spring semesters count toward credit-hour requirements. Scholarships are awarded on a per semester (fall/spring) basis. Students must successfully complete a total of 30 ASU credit hours with a minimum 3.00 ASU cumulative GPA by the end of each spring semester. If you do not meet this requirement, your scholarship will be canceled or reduced.

**** National Merit College and Corporate sponsor recipients must also fulfill separate National Merit Scholarship Corporation renewal requirements and procedures in addition to meeting ASU renewal requirements and procedures.
