All students studying abroad on an ASU study abroad program are required to complete an online pre-departure orientation. Those details are listed in your online application.
In addition to this required online orientation, we are happy to host an optional in-person pre-departure Meet & Greet session.
The purpose of this session is an informal meeting with study abroad alumni, international students currently attending ASU and other ASU study abroad students going to your region/country to make connections and get advice.
Saturday, October 20 at 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Registration information has been emailed to all confirmed students. Please check your email to RSVP for this event by Monday, October 15.
If you are unable to attend (i.e., you're an ASU Online student or have prior commitments), each International Coordinator will send out a survey to provide you with a way to connect virtually with other students studying abroad in the same country.
We also recognize that your parent(s) or guardian(s) may have questions about your involvement in your upcoming study abroad program and accordingly, we will be hosting two sessions for parents of students who will be studying abroad on an upcoming winter break, spring semester or calendar year program.
We would love for you to share this information with your parent(s) or guardian(s) in case they would like to attend. The presentation will cover financial information, health and safety matters and how your parent(s) might communicate with and support you while you’re abroad. The presentation will be delivered via Zoom, a free online platform. Please see below for details on the two times we are offering this presentation and have your parent(s) or guardian(s) RSVP here.
