Summer, Fall and Academic Year 2019 Programs:
All students studying abroad on an ASU study abroad program are required to complete an online pre-departure orientation. Those details are listed in your online application.
Partnership & Exchange Programs - Study Abroad Meet & Greet
In addition to the required online orientation, we are happy to host an optional in-person pre-departure Meet & Greet session.
The purpose of this session is an informal meeting with study abroad alumni, international students currently attending ASU and other ASU study abroad students going to your region/country to make connections and get advice.
- Wednesday, March 27 at 4 p.m.- 5 p.m.
Registration information will be emailed to all confirmed students going on partnership or exchange programs. Please check your email to RSVP for this event.
If you are unable to attend (i.e., you're an ASU Online student or have prior commitments), each International Coordinator will send out a survey to provide you with a way to connect virtually with other students studying abroad in the same country.
Faculty-Led Programs – Individual Orientation Sessions
In addition to the required online orientation, all ASU Study Abroad programs led by ASU faculty will have in-person orientation sessions to prepare you for your specific program. If you have questions about when your orientation will be held, please contact your Faculty Director(s).
Parent Information Session
We also recognize that your parent(s) or guardian(s) may have questions about your involvement in your upcoming study abroad program and accordingly, we will be hosting sessions for parents of students who will be studying abroad on an upcoming program.
The presentation will cover financial information, health and safety matters and how your parent(s) might communicate with and support you while you’re abroad. The presentation will be delivered via Zoom, a free online videoconferencing platform. As the sessions will be at different times based on your program type, you will receive additional information, as well as an RSVP via email from the Study Abroad Office. We do hope that you will share this information with your parent(s) or guardian(s) so that they may attend.
