Available Scholarships & Grants Through the Study Abroad Office

Beyond the numerous scholarships and grants in our search, we have a number of opportunities available directly through our office. These funding opportunities are available for ASU students participating in programs available through our office.

Study Abroad Office Travel Grant

The ASU Study Abroad Office offers Travel Grants of up to $1,000 to students studying during the summer or semester who demonstrate financial need and academic merit.  Students applying by the Priority Deadline will be considered for $1000 travel grants.  Students who apply by the Final Deadline and students who were not selected at the Priority Deadline will be considered for grants of $500.  All Study Abroad Travel Grant recipients will be expected to commit to and complete a follow-on project that helps the Study Abroad office share study abroad opportunities with other ASU students. Review eligibility requirements and apply.

Study Abroad Office Diversity Scholarship

The ASU Study Abroad Office Diversity Scholarship provides a one-time award of $2,000 to diverse students going abroad who demonstrate financial need. All Diversity Scholarship recipients will be expected to commit to and complete a follow-on project that helps the Study Abroad Office share study abroad opportunities with other ASU students. The definition of a diverse student varies and includes (but not limited to) education and science-related majors, military veterans, students who identify as LGBTQIA, ethnic minorities and more.  Review eligibility requirements and apply.

Study Abroad Office Sun Devils at Work Scholarship

Completing an international internship or research abroad could be a great opportunity, and the Study Abroad Office wants to help you fund your program with a $4,000 Sun Devils at Work Scholarship! Applicants will be evaluated on GPA, financial need, and essay responses. All Sun Devils at Work Scholarship recipients will be expected to commit to and complete a follow-on project that helps the Study Abroad Office share study abroad opportunities with other ASU students. Review eligibility requirements and apply.

ASU Planning Scholarships

ASU Planning Scholarships provide first-generation college students with the opportunity to study abroad. This scholarship provides $4,000 to first generation students going abroad after their freshmen year, and recipients may use it any time during the next five semesters! Recipients must be first generation, second semester freshman who demonstrate financial need, and eligible students will be invited to apply. If you have received an invitation, apply by June 1, 2018.

ISA Planning Scholarships

You may be eligible to receive a scholarship providing a one-time award of $4,000 during a semester or $2,000 in the summer for first generation college students studying on any ISA program. Scholarships are awarded after freshman year, and students may use their scholarship any time during the next five semesters!  Recipients must be first generation, second-semester freshman who demonstrate financial need, and eligible students will be invited to apply. If you have received an invitation, apply by June 1, 2018.
