Why Marie works in global education: Partnering with students to cultivate international relationships, deepen their cultural understanding, and enhance their global awareness has long-lasting impacts in the lives of our students and the world. I am passionate about supporting students in this endeavor and committed to making global learning opportunities accessible.

Advice for students preparing to go abroad: Leave space in your time abroad to simply be! Rest, breathe and enjoy even the smallest moments. Slow down and immerse yourself in the daily rhythms of the community, culture, and country you are in.

One of the most important lessons Marie learned while studying abroad or traveling: Taking the time to build relationships with those around you is the greatest use of your time. Even if you have to awkwardly stumble through a new language or navigate unfamiliar cultural norms, making the effort to build those relationships will be so worth it. It will be something you cherish long after you return home!
